at The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board
125 Navy Street in Oakville, 2nd Floor Classroom
People - your most important asset. If your employees, or the loved ones of your employees or students, don't feel that the workplace is safe, what are the results? Lack of productivity? Absenteeism? Abandonment? An incident which negatively impacts your brand? A safe and secure environment increases engagement. High engagement directly impacts profit, retention, and makes your workplace a desired destination for high caliber talent.
Asset Protection for the Entrepreneur - out of necessity, today's entrepreneur wears many hats. You face many of the same risks to yourself and your assets that larger size businesses do with only a fraction of the resources. This 2 hour session will benefit you personally and professionally by helping you better protect yourself minimize your exposure to violence and learn how to handle a situation when it occurs, and optimize your business profits.
In 2004, a Statistics Canada survey stated that there were just under 400,000 violent incidents reported. 20% occurred at work, with the retail/restaurant industry being the 3rdhighest risk industry. A 2011 PWC and Retail Council of Canada retail loss prevention survey estimated that retailers lose about 1.2% of their net sales to unexplained loss. The 2012 average Ontario Worker's Compensation claim cost to an employer is projected to be between $6,000 and $15,000 depending on the retail/restaurant business sector. A 2008 survey estimates that the turnover cost per employee for employers is about $10,000.
