Due to the RBC Canadian Open, which is taking place at Glen Abbey Golf Club from July 18 to 24, Oakvillians will experience some road disturbances. Glen Abbey plays host to the world's best golfers and the event will be well-attended, so here are a few things Oakvillians should know.

Lane closure - Dorval Drive northbound
July 16 to 24
The northbound lane will be closed from Leewood Drive to Monastary Drive till end-of-day on July 24. This is to accommodate shuttles and car traffic to and from the site.

Lane closure - Upper Middle Road eastbound
July 18 to 24
The closure from Doval Drive to the Smith Triller Bridge accommodates shuttle drop-off and pick-up for volunteers.

Full road closure - Dorval Drive northbound
July 23 to 24
This closure is for pedestrian traffic from the event and will result in a closure of northbound lanes from North Service Road to Old Abbey Lane from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 23 and 24. There will be a detour route along Nottinghill Gate to Upper Middle Road.

Parking restrictions
July 18 to 24
There will be temporary parking restrictions on roads near the golf course during the tournament.

Free, secure bike parking
Cyclists can use the secure bike valet across from Glen Abbey at the corner of Doval Drive and Old Abbey Lane during the Open. The area is supervised from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the tournament.
