Halton Region's 2014 Employment Survey Results report, presented to Regional Council on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, indicates that in 2014, Halton experienced an increase of over 8,000 jobs and almost 500 new businesses—both strong indicators of economic growth in the region.
“The annual Employment Survey provides Halton Region with key information regarding effective land use planning and trends in Halton’s economic development. It also supports our planning for water, wastewater and transportation infrastructure,” said Halton’s Regional Chair Gary Carr. “Reports such as the Employment Survey allow us to effectively plan for growth, attract new businesses and visitors, and support economic sustainability in Halton Region.”
Over 13,000 businesses in Halton Region participated in the fifth annual survey. Halton’s Employment Survey is a comprehensive, door-to-door business survey that captures employment and land use information. Data collection takes place through face-to-face interviews or telephone conversations conducted between May and September of each year.
