Warning Burlington REALTORS® - Suspicious activity in Brant Hills

We've received a note regarding a suspicious occurrence in Burlington:

I received a frantic call from a home seller yesterday asking me if I confirmed a showing on their home without them knowing for some reason? This property had already been sold and still had the SOLD sign in the front yard very clearly displayed. The door bell had been rung multiple times and as she reached the front door someone was on the opposite side trying to open the door by pulling it back and forth.... I was surprised to hear she actually opened the door ( 2 young kids inside with her, not smart ) and asked can I help you. 2 Asian men where on the front porch. One guy at the actual door and one kneeling down playing with the lock box. They told her they were here to see the home and that they had an appointment to come in. They were told it was already sold and that they can obviously see the sold sign on the lawn. They stood there for about a minute in broken English explaining they have an appointment and wanted to see inside. Sadly my client was so caught off guard she didn't ask for a business card and one was not offered by either of the men. She mentioned neither looked like a Realtor ( as you know we all have that Realtor look ) and neither had any paperwork with them. These 2 men were described as Asian and in their late 40's to early 50's. They were driving an older grayish Hyundai SUV. Possibly another make but was sure it was grayish and an SUV. They left without any further issues. Of course this could have been a simple mistake by a Realtor but all signs point to something suspicious. There aren't even any houses for sale in the area that could explain maybe showing up to the wrong address. This is a courtesy warning, if you have a similar experience it's worth sharing so nothing bad happens to any of our clients.
