Oakville, ON, March 19, 2014 – The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board was recently awarded the REALTORS Care Foundation Spirit Award for 2013, for their significant contribution and support of shelter-related charities in their communities.
“We are pleased to accept this award on behalf of our Members, Directors and Staff that have contributed both their time and money to support our President’s Charities over the years,” said OMDREB President, Jack McCrudden.
Over the years OMDREB has raised upwards of over $200,000 for Habitat for Humanity, Halton, and are delighted to be working with them again in 2014. In 2013, OMDREB's President’s Charity was the Oakville Hospital Foundation's Navigator Program. The program provides services to families and youth facing mental health challenges. With the support of the REALTORS Care Foundation, OMDREB was able to present them with a cheque for $50,000 which was a result of the Board's fund raising efforts for the year.
The Spirit Award, presented at the OREA Leadership Conference each year, recognizes individuals or board/association’s whom have in some significant way contributed to the success of the REALTORS Care Foundation or advanced its goal of assisting Members of Organized Real Estate and Real Estate Boards and Associations in Ontario by the support of shelter-related charities in their communities.
