JUNE 2, 2020

OAKVILLE, ON -- We are currently in an unprecedented time, and at no other point in recent memory will the impact of giving in our local communities be more impactful.

Throughout The Oakville, Milton and Real Estate Board’s history, we have been a positive force in the Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills communities with our various charitable partners, both in caring for those most in need and fighting debilitating illnesses.

Through a grant provided by the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, we were able to provide $3,176.66 each to the Milton Resource Centre, Food For Life, and Kerr Street Mission.

Additionally, every year the President of The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board chooses a charity of which to support through their term. 2020 President Richard Weima is actively supporting ALS Canada and has called upon others to raise awareness during the month of June, which marks ALS Awareness Month.

“Every year, ALS Canada holds a ‘Walk to End ALS’ in order to raise awareness and funds for fighting it. Despite the challenges faced by the COVID-19 pandemic right now, the format has been changed to a virtual walk so that the tradition can continue,” says Weima.

“Leading up to June 21, ALS Canada is hosting a variety of different online events with the ALS Virtual Walk participants, including art classes, music classes, and yoga, in order to inspire you to get creative with how you may want to participate. I hope you consider joining me as a participant in this year’s Walk To End ALS.”

The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board is pleased to have helped these important charitable entities provide what is needed for our communities during this time, and we look forward to contributing more in the future.
