Oakville, ON, August 5, 2020 – According to figures released August 5 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased in July compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went up by 68, totalling 430 compared to 362 in July 2019. The total number of new property listings saw the same this year: 630 new listings in July 2020 compared to 541 in 2019.

OMDREB continues to strongly recommend virtual even though ban on in-person open houses has been lifted

OAKVILLE, ON — On July 24, the Region of Halton officially entered Stage 3 of their COVID-19 Reopening Plan. As such, OMDREB Members and other REALTORS® across the GTA are directly affected by this Stage 3 implementation - specifically with the ban on public open houses being lifted.

Halton Region Passes By-Law Requiring Face Coverings in Enclosed Public Places

July 16, 2020

On Wednesday, July 15 Regional Council for the Regional Municipality of Halton approved a temporary By-Law (By-Law 47-20) requiring non-medical masks/face coverings to be worn in all indoor public spaces that are accessible to the public. The By-law is in effect as of 12:01am on Wednesday, July 22nd, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Halton Region.

Oakville, ON, July 10, 2020 – According to figures released July 10 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales dropped slightly in June compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went down by 67, totalling 328 compared to 395 in June 2019. The total number of new property listings saw the same this year: 598 new listings in June 2020 compared to 641 in 2019.

May 2020 Market Report

According to figures released June 5 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales dropped drastically in May compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went down by 235, totalling 199 compared to 434 in May 2019. The total number of new property listings saw the same this year: 325 new listings in May 2020 compared to 777 in 2019.

In Concert With The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, OMDREB Gives $9,530 To Local Charities, Hopes To Raise More During ALS Awareness Month

Through a grant provided by the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, we were able to provide $3,176.66 each to the Milton Resource Centre, Food For Life, and Kerr Street Mission. Additionally, every year the President of The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board chooses a charity of which to support through their term. 2020 President Richard Weima is actively supporting ALS Canada and has called upon others to raise awareness during the month of June, which marks ALS Awareness Month.

Oakville, ON, May 7, 2020 – According to figures released May 7 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales dropped drastically in April compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went down by 472, totaling 289 compared to 761 in April 2019. The total number of new property listings saw the same this year: 559 new listings in April 2020 compared to 1,347 in 2019.

Oakville, ON, April 7, 2020 – According to figures released April 7 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased slightly in March compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went up by 20, totaling 670 compared to 650 in March 2019. The total number of new property listings dropped marginally this year: 1,118 new listings in March 2020 compared to 1,220 in 2019.

OMDREB becomes first Real Estate Board in Ontario to temporarily suspend all open houses during COVID-19 crisis

Understandably we all have questions about the impacts this crisis will have on our industry, both short and long-term. While no one has definitive answers, we can provide an update on the actions our Board is taking. As our industry involves a significant amount of personal contact, particularly during showings, open houses, and in-person client communication, we all need to keep in mind the recommendations of our Health Authorities who are strongly encouraging social distancing in the current environment.

COVID-19: Update to Board Operations

March 17, 2020

OMDREB has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and taking action to safeguard the well-being of our Members and staff. As noted in previous communications, this already includes cancelling all public events, seminars, training, in-person and Committee meetings. We will also be temporarily suspending all operations at our Milton office until further notice. Our Oakville office will be closed to guests, but operations will continue with a reduced on-site staff team until the end of this week. Effective at the end of day Friday, March 20, 2020, all Board staff will be working remotely and the Oakville office will be fully closed until further notice.
