Oakville, ON, December 11, 2014 – A unique charity will be able to expand its reach into Halton, thanks to the local real estate association. The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board announced on Wednesday afternoon that office space will be donated in-kind to the Nanny Angel Network to expand their service into Halton. The Board also pledged to raise $25,000.
The Nanny Angel Network, the first and only registered charity of its kind in North America, provides free in-home childcare relief to women undergoing cancer treatment.
“Financial contributions are vital for every charity but what can be of equal importance are tangible items that make an impact today,” said Jeff Mahannah, 2015 President. “Acquiring office space can be a tedious, time consuming process with many factors to consider and important decisions to be made that will impact an organization for years to come.”
“With our Board providing office space for the Angels, the Network can focus their efforts on growing their service into our community while their Angels have a place to do what they do best: help women who need it most,” added Mahannah.
The Board has donated an existing office at its Oakville location for use by the Nanny Angel Network’s Angels to make appointments and store materials they need for their day-to-day operations.
“We are so elated to have been chosen by OMDREB as their charity for 2015,” said Audrey Guth, President and CEO of Diamond Personnel, Founder of the Nanny Angel Network. “The office space OMDREB has provided NAN will give us the opportunity to engage the Oakville, Milton and Halton community in not only philanthropy but volunteering to help moms through their cancer journey.”
The incoming President of OMDREB selects a shelter-related organization for their sitting year. The President’s Charity will be the recipient of charitable donations of money, time, and required items for the duration of the year.
