OMDREB Wins Prestigious Technology Award

  • July 11, 2011

Oakville/Milton, July 11, 2011 - The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB) has won a prestigious award for its innovative use of technology.

The award was presented by ASI (Advanced Solutions International) in recognition of the creative use of its iMIS software in providing technology services to its Members. The ASI objective is to develop iMIS to such a degree that it is used as easily and frequently by association members as it is by association administrative staff. The presentation took place in June during the annual Canada Discovery Conference hosted by the Canadian Chapter of NiUG, an organization of cross-Canada users of iMIS software. iMIS software is used extensively by associations worldwide to provide comprehensive membership administrative and accounting services.

In presenting the award, ASI commended OMDREB’s Manager of Operations, Hilary Morgan and Data Base Administrator, Kaytee McNally, for their creative use of the iMIS software. In addition to providing the Board Membership with access to its MLS® system, the OMDREB Staff was able to customize the iMIS software to create a web application called MyStore which allows Members a secure one-stop solution for paying membership dues; printing tax statements; registering online for courses, tradeshows and events; accessing documents related to committee work; and the purchasing of real-estate related products. The objective of the MyStore application was to simplify day to day activities for OMDREB Members and Staff, and to allow for the continued development of programs and features that enhance Board services.

The Board’s most recent Membership Survey, conducted in spring 2011 also was facilitated by the iMIS’ Informz module – another creative use of the software. Survey results indicated that Members use and appreciate the innovative technology. Currently 97 percent of OMDREB Members are using MyStore.
